8th Grade Art Under the Microscope
During the class microscope unit, 8th graders selected a blood cell slide and drew just a portion of what they saw. This was then transferred to watercolor paper and designed into a pen and ink pattern. On test paper, students practiced wet-on-wet and dry-on-wet watercolor and experimented with mixing pigment mixtures. They finally applied color to their graphic designs and, in some cases, supplemental textures.
